The ICCP conferences are organised every four years by the International Commission on Clouds and Precipitation (ICCP) together with a host institution. ICCP is a commission of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS), an association of IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics).
The last ICCP conference was at the University of Manchester in 2016. The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM; https://www.tropmet.res.in/ ) won the bid for conducting the next ICCP conference in 2021. The scientific part of the conference is organized by the commission, which is an international body of scientists working in cloud and precipitation physics. Please see for more details http://www.iccp-iamas.org/
The goal of the conference is to provide a venue for presenting scientific research and advances in the area of clouds and precipitation. The ICCP conference also strives to enhance the exchange of ideas within the international community on clouds and precipitation. ICCP conferences are attended by leading cloud physics and precipitation scientists and their students.
The ICCP conferences are also an avenue for young scientists and students in this field to interact and enhance their knowledge. IITM would like to encourage students (~200 in number) to participate and present their results and interact with eminent scientists and groups.
